The Colour of My Love (dt.: die Farbe meiner Liebe) ist Céline's drittes englisches Album und wurde am 09. November 1993 veröffentlicht. Es enthält drei Nummer 1 Hits: "The Power of Love", "Think Twice" und "To Love You More". Es ist ihr insgesamt 18. Album.

Céline arbeitete mit einigen Leuten zusammen, die ihr bereits bei ihren vorherigen Alben "Unison" und "Celine Dion" geholfen haben: David Foster, Walter Afanasieff oder Diane Warren um nur ein paar zu nennen.

Das Album repräsentierte den internationalen Erfolg von Céline. Mit dem Album "The Colour of My Love" erreichte Céline weltweite Bekanntheit.

Die Europäische Version des Albums enthält den Song "Just Walk Away" (veröffentlicht als Promo Single in Spanien). "The Colour of My Love" wurde am 21. Oktober 1995 neu in Japan veröffentlicht mit einem Bonus Track "To Love You More", welches ein Nummer 1 Hit in Japan wurde.

In der Widmung des Albums gab es die erste öffentliche Bestätigung, dass Céline in ihren Manager René Angelil verliebt ist. In dieser Widmung beschrieb Céline René als "the colour of (her) love" - die Farbe ihrer Liebe.

Mit "When I Fall in Love" und "The Power of Love" wurde Céline mit zwei Grammy Awards in der Kategorie Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal und Best Female Pop Vocal Performance nominiert.

Sie gewann viele Preise während der "The Colour of My Love" Era, unter anderem: Ivor Novello Award für "Think Twice", Japan Gold Disc Award für "To Love You More", IRMA Award für das Album "The Colour of My Love" und einen World Music Award für World's Best Selling Canadian Female Recording Artist of the Year. Céline erhielt auch viele Juno Awards und Félix Awards und wurde für einen American Music Awards nominiert. 

Céline tourte mit der "The Colour of My Love Tour um das Album zu promoten. "The Colour of My Love Concert wurde als Home Video und DVD veröffentlicht.

Am 12. September 2008 erschien eine Kombination mit der CD und DVD.

 

Chart Erfolg

In den Vereinigten Staaten wurde das Album 6 Millionen mal verkauft und bekam 6x Platin (4,502,000 Exemplare wurden laut Nielsen SoundScan verkauft)

Nachdem in Europa 4 Millionen Exemplare verkauft wurden, bekam "The Colour of My Love" 4x Platin. Es wurde mit Multi Platin in vielen Europäischen Ländern geehrt, darunter England, wo 1,816,915 Exemplare verkauft wurden und 5x Platin erreichte (obwohl es für über 1,800,000 Exemplare bereits 6x Platin gibt). Mit "The Colour of My Love" erhielt Céline enormen Erfolg, insbesondere in Großbritannien, wo das Album für fünf Wochen an der Spitze der britischen Album-Charts stand, während "Think Twice" die Single Charts anführte. Diese Leistung wurde zuletzt von den Beatles erreicht. Das Album und die Single waren insgesamt 7 Wochen an der Spitze der britischen Charts.

In Kanada wurde das Album 1,4 Millionen mal verkauft und wurde mit Diamant ausgezeichnet. Ebenso in Japan wurden 1 Million Exemplare verkauft und bekam einen Million Award.

Das Album wurde auch in Australien und Neuseeland, wo es 8x Platin und 6x Platin gab, sehr erfolgreich. "The Colour of My Love" wurde zum zweit best verkauftesten Album in Australien im Jahr 1995 und war die längste Zeit auf Platz 1 im selben Jahr.

Das Album war auf Platz 1 in folgenden Ländern: Norwegen (zehn Wochen an der Spitze), Australien (acht Wochen), Großbritannien (sieben Wochen), Kanada (sechs Wochen), Irland (vier Wochen), Belgien Flandern (vier Wochen) und Griechenland. "The Colour of My Love" kam auch in die Top 10 vieler anderer Länder: Platz 2 in den Niederlanden, in Neuseeland, und Portugal, Platz 4 in den Vereinigten Staaten, Schweden. In den European Top 100 Albums Platz 7 in Frankreich, Japan, Finnland und Spanien und Platz 9 in der Schweiz. In Deutschland erreichte "The Colour of My Love" Platz 16.
