Pressekonferenz zur Eröffnung der "Taking Chances" Tour
Gestern fand die offizielle Pressekonferenz zur Eröffnung von Céline's "Taking Chances" WorldTour in Johannesburg statt. Bei der Eröffnungszeremonie im Hotel Monte Casino wurde Céline vom Soweto Gospel Chor begrüßt, der sie auch auf ihren Konzerten in Süd-Afrika begleiten wird, und bekam gleich zu Beginn den Award als die erfolgreichste Künstlerin in Süd-Afrika überreicht. Die Frage aller Fragen an diesem Abend war natürlich: "Warum beginnt Céline ihre Welttour ausgerechnet in Süd-Afrika?" Dabei verreit uns Céline: "Vor zwei Jahren rief mich Nelson Mandela an, um uns einzuladen, aber wir waren ja für fünf Jahre in Las Vegas verpflichtet. René und ich versprachen uns und Mandela aber, dass wir (die nächste Tournee) in Südafrika beginnen würden". Céline hat natürlich Wort gehalten und der Startschuß für ihre phänomenale "Taking Chances" Worldtour fällt am Valentinstag in Süd-Afrika. Übrigens, das Eröffnungskonzert ist eine Wohltätigkeitveranstaltung, somit gehen alle Einnahmen des ersten Konzertes an die Mandela Stiftung! Bereits jetzt freut sich Céline und fühlt sich sehr geehrt Nelson Mandela persönlich zu treffen und mit ihm zusammen Einrichtungen für arme Kinder zu besuchen. Céline wird insgesamt drei Wochen in Süd-Afrika bleiben und neben Konzerten, die Zeit ausgiebig mit ihrer Familie geniessen und das Land erkunden. Yesterday was the official press conference for the opening of Celine's "Taking Chances" World Tour in Johannesburg. At the highlighting opening ceremony at the Hotel Monte Casino Céline was welcome by the Soweto Gospel Choir, which will also accompany her concerts in South Africa. Céline got right at the beginning a Award as the most successful artist in South Africa ever. The question of all questions for this evening was of course: "Why Céline begin their world tour calculated in South Africa?" Céline told us: "Two years ago, Nelson Mandela called me to invite us, but we were for five years in Las Vegas. René and I promised ourselves and Mandela, that we will start the next tour in South Africa." Céline has kept obviously word and the starting shot for her phenomenal "Taking Chances" World Tour falls on Valentine's Day in South Africa. Incidentally, the opening concert is a charity event, so all revenue for the first concert will go to the Mandela Foundation! Céline is already pleased and feels very honored to meet Nelson Mandela personally and visit with him facilities for poor children. Céline will stay for a total of three weeks in South Africa, and spend the time extensively with her family enjoy and explore the country.
