Kuala Lumpur Konzert: Infos Fotos Videos

 

Mit einem Kuß, einem Augenzwinkern und beeindruckendem Gesang liess Céline die Herzen von Millionen von Fans am Sonntag Nacht in Kuala Lumpur erstrahlen. In ihrem ersten Konzert in Malaysia, gab Céline eine mitreißende Aufführung im Merdeka Stadion. Das Konzert war Teil der "Taking Chances" World Tour und Kuala Lumpur war die einzige Station in Südost-Asien. Kanadas Gesangssensation präsentierte an diesem Abend 22 Songs unter freiem Sternenhimmel; fast non-stop. Mehr als 10.000 Fans folgten jeder ihrer Bewegungen. Die Show begann mit Musik-Videos, die auf zwei großen Bildschirm an den Bühnenseiten gezeigt wurden. Schließlich ist Céline spätestens seit ihrer Las Vegas Show "A New Day..." bekannt für aufwendige Bühnenbilder mit Special Effects. Auch in Kuala Lumpur spielten visuelle Effekte in Form von Video-Clips eine große Rolle. Dabei wurden Videos für jeden Teil der Show präsentiert: Rock, Passion, Fashionista, Soul und ein Queen Tribute. Céline eröffnete die Show mit dem schnelllebigen "I Drove All Night", gefolgt von einem ihrer Smash Hits "The Power of Love". Céline nahm sich dann einen Augenblick Zeit und entschuldigte sich für die Verschiebung des Konzerts in Malaysia aufgrund ihrer Erkrankung und sagt: "Ich danke Ihnen für Ihr Verständnis und, dass Sie mir eine weitere Chance gegeben haben, um heute Abend hier aufzutreten". Die Zuschauer nahmen es ihrer Diva natürlich keines falls übel und jubelten ihr zu auch für ihr einwandfreies "apa khabar and terima kasih". Was sie nicht in Worten ausdrücken konnte, machte sie mit fantastischer Mimik, Luftgittare spielen, Küssen, spielerischen Winks und natürlich ihrer großartigen Stimme. Céline würdigte Queen und dessen Lead-Sänger Freddie Mercury und stellte eine kurze Version von "We Will Rock You" vor, gefolgt vom legendärem "The Show Must Go On". Das Publikum - jung und alt - war absolut begeistert. Sie sagte auch, dass der Regen ihr Sorgen bereitete, als sie angekommen sei. "Aber ich habe gehört, dass es in der Regel nur am Nachmittag regnet, so dass alles in Ordnung war", sagte sie gewitzelt. Unterstützt durch ein exzellentes Musiker-Ensemble präsentierte Céline ihre Welthits von "All By Myself" bis hin zu "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore". Wer vielleicht erwartet hätte, dass bei einem Céline Dion Konzert alle mitsingen würden, schließlich zählen ihr Hits zu den beliebtesten Karaoke Songs, wurde an diesem Abend leicht enttäuscht. Der Grund dafür war jedoch ganz simpel. Niemand in der Menge war in der Lage so gut zu singen, um mit Céline hinhalten zu können; ja nicht einmal die talentierte Datuk Siti Nurhaliza. With a kiss, a wink and stunning vocal prowess, Céline stole the hearts of thousands of fans on Sunday night in Kuala Lumpur. In her first concert in Malaysia, Canadian songbird gave a rousing performance at the Stadium Merdeka, pleasing the crowd with every hit song. The concert was part of the "Taking Chances"  WorldTour; Kuala Lumpur was the only South-East Asian venue on her list. Canadian singing sensation Céline Dion lived up to her top billing right here last night with a power-packed performance in the open air arena. Céline performed 22 songs, almost non-stop, as over 10,000 fans at Stadium Merdeka followed her every move, and tune. The show kicked off with vignettes of Dion’s many music videos shown on two large screen placed at the sides of the stage. As Dion is known for performing with elaborate stage set-ups and special effects, visual effects in the form of video clips played a big role in her KL show. In a way, the videos set the mood for every part of the show Rock, Passion, Fashionista, Soul and a Queen Tribute. The singer got things going with the fast-paced "I Drove All Night", followed by one of her smash hits, "The Power of Love". Dion then extended her apologies to Malaysians for postponing the show, which had initially been scheduled for April 8, saying that she had fallen ill while performing in Australia and added: "Thank you for being understanding and for giving me another chance to perform here tonight", as the audience cheered her on. Of course, the singer also did the quintessential "apa khabar and terima kasih" (with good diction too!) bit during the show. But what she didn't say in words she made up for in her many exaggerated facial expressions, her criss-crossing arm movements, her playful winks and kisses and, of course, her great voice. Yes, Céline paid tribute to Queen and gave a heartfelt dedication to the band’s late lead singer, Freddie Mercury. She sang a short version of "We Will Rock You", which the crowd – young and old – promptly joined in, as well as "The Show Must Go On". She also said that the rain began to worry her when she arrived here earlier yesterday. "But I was told that it usually rained in the afternoons here, so that was all right," she quipped. Backed by an ensemble that included four guitarists, a drummer and a pianist, Dion also belted out her other chart-topping hits like "All By Myself" and the French number "Pour Que Tu M’Aimes Encore. Although one would expect a Céline Dion concert to be filled with many sing-along moments (after all, the most popular karaoke songs are by her), that didn't quite happen on Sunday. But far from it being a diva trait, the reason for that was simple enough – nobody in the crowd could sing like Dion. Not even the talented Datuk Siti Nurhaliza.
